Sample chips only tell part of the story on the veined colors. Minuet and Soprano both move across a full slab in ways a four-inch square cannot show you, and the vein direction determines where we place your seams. Who makes Viatera, and where is it made?

LX Hausys makes Viatera. If you have shopped countertops before and remember the name LG Viatera, that is the same product. LG Group restructured in 2021 and moved the building materials division to the newly formed LX Group. The formula, the plant, and the quality did not change, and some showrooms still use the old name.

Most Viatera colors are manufactured in Adairsville, Georgia with U.S. and imported parts. That matters more than a country-of-origin line on a spec sheet. Domestic production shortens the supply chain, which shows up as steadier lead times when a color runs short. It also supports the two-week order-to-installation window we hold on in-stock surfaces.

The material itself is up to 93 percent natural quartz combined with polymer resins and pigments, pressed under heat and pressure into a non-porous slab. Which Viatera thickness should you choose?

Viatera comes in 2 cm and 3 cm. Most Twin Cities kitchens we build use 3 cm, which carries an island overhang with less support underneath and gives you a substantial edge without any buildup.

A 2 cm slab with a laminated edge reaches a similar visual weight for less material cost, and it suits bathroom vanities well. If you are running a waterfall island or a mitered edge, 3 cm is the better starting point.

Which Viatera colors do Minnesota homeowners choose?

Color demand here skews lighter and warmer than the national average, which tracks with how little natural light most kitchens get from November through March. These come up in our showroom more than any others.

Minuet. Viatera’s best seller nationally and the one we quote most. A warm white field with soft grey veining that reads as Calacatta marble across the room. It sits well against white and painted cabinetry.
Rococo. Pale eggshell with quiet grey marbling. A gentler pattern than Minuet for homeowners who want movement without a focal point.
Soprano. Bright white with defined grey veining. It carries a full-height backsplash better than most, and homeowners often run it up the wall behind the range.
Everest. A clean, consistent white that brightens a small kitchen and lets cabinets and hardware do the talking.
Calacatta Oro. White with warm gold veining, and the right answer when the room needs warmth to offset a north-facing exposure.

How much do Viatera countertops cost in Minneapolis and Saint Paul?

Viatera sits in the mid to upper range of the quartz brands we carry, and LX Hausys tiers its colors, so two slabs of the same thickness can price differently. A solid color and a premium marble-look design can sit a good distance apart.

Your total depends on square footage, color tier, thickness, edge profile, sink and cooktop cutouts, seam count, and whether you add a backsplash. We price the actual project rather than quoting a square-foot number that changes once we see your layout. What does the Viatera warranty cover?

LX Hausys backs Viatera with a 15-year limited residential warranty, which lands in the middle of the field for premium quartz. It covers manufacturing defects in material installed in a permanent interior application.

Two conditions matter. The warranty requires professional fabrication and installation, so a DIY install voids it. And LX Hausys may ask for an on-site inspection before approving a claim. Keep your invoice and your color name somewhere you can find them, because a claim years from now moves faster with both in hand.

Can you use Viatera outdoors in Minnesota?

No. Quartz manufacturers do not warranty outdoor installations, because UV exposure can shift the resin binder and fade the color over time. Minnesota adds freeze and thaw cycles on top of that.

For a deck kitchen, a screen porch bar, or a lake cabin counter, granite is the material we steer clients toward. A three-season porch or a south-facing sunroom counter deserves the same conversation. How do you fabricate and install Viatera?

Our team laser measures your space with your existing countertops still in place, which keeps your kitchen usable while we fabricate. Back in Burnsville, our craftspeople cut your slab on a SABERjet XP CNC machine, so seams line up and edges come off clean.

Vein matching is where Viatera’s marble-look colors earn or lose their money. A Minuet or Soprano slab with the seam dropped in the wrong place breaks the pattern and you will see it every day. We lay out cuts against the actual slab you selected rather than a generic template.

Our own installers set the tops. We do not subcontract that work. We also remove and dispose of your old countertops, so you are not hauling laminate to the curb.

How do you care for Viatera countertops?

Wipe with warm water and dish soap. That covers daily cleaning. Viatera is non-porous, so you never seal it, and spills sit on the surface instead of soaking in.

Viatera or another quartz brand?

Viatera is a strong choice, and it is not the only one on our floor. We also carry Silestone, Hanstone, Vicostone, MSI Q, Quantra, Daltile ONE, Aggranite, and Wilsonart.

A few honest comparisons. Silestone offers a wider color range and Cosentino’s low-silica HybriQ technology, at a price that often runs above Viatera for a comparable look. MSI Q competes hard on value and moves fast on trend colors.
